Last week Facebook introduced a few new data points to Facebook Insights, including a new metric that displays negative feedback.

Facebook Insights is an analytics tool that is offered to developers and Page admins for tracking engagement and other metrics on your business or brand’s Page.

Steve Allard of Wise Metrics – an advanced Facebook analytics tool – discovered that Page admins can access negative feedback by clicking “engaged users” on Facebook posts. Once clicked, you will be able to see how many users either hid your posts or gave you negative feedback in News Feeds.

This metric is incredibly valuable now that Facebook users have more control over what’s appearing in their News Feeds. If certain types of posts are resulting in more people hiding you from their feeds, it might be time to try a different strategy.

Negative feedback might shake your confidence, but don’t let it stop you from being active on social networks. It gives you a chance to start a dialogue with your community and in some cases, discover and resolve a pain point.

It appears that this metric is still being tested and not all Page admins have access to it yet. Facebook hasn’t announced when this feature will be made available to all.
