We celebrate the diversity, talent and ideas of all
A different kind of DEI
You’re likely tired of reading the same corporate DEI statements over and over again. You want to know if we take this work seriously. So let’s ditch the script and give it to you straight—from the heart.
What does DEI mean to Sprout?
DEI is deeply woven into the fabric of who we are as a company and has been one of our core values from the very beginning.
For us, “the work” is to pursue diversity, equity and inclusion in the way our people experience the workplace, in the way we build our teams and how we cultivate allyship for historically marginalized communities.
No really, what does it mean?
Ah yes, a few quick definitions. Diversity is everything that makes you unique, including what you can and can’t see. Equity is recognizing we don’t all start from the same place and must make adjustments to imbalances. Inclusion is embracing the individuality of others and inviting different voices to contribute. Allyship is using our privileges to protect and advance the rights and wellbeing of historically marginalized people.
Who gets this work done?
DEI is everyone’s job at Sprout. Yes, we have dedicated DEI and People teams, as well as numerous employee volunteers, but we all play a role—no matter your position or level in the company.
When does it happen?
While many of our efforts are optional, DEI work is not an extracurricular activity at Sprout. It’s always-on and ever-present in the systems and processes we use to develop our products, hire talent and support our team members—fully integrating DEI into the way we do business.
What’s the end goal?
There’s no finish line for DEI work. We still have work to do, and always will. We’re constantly reevaluating and scaling our efforts as the company grows and evolves. What our DEI organization and plans looked like ten, five and two years ago isn’t what it looks like now, or what it will look like next year. As the world changes, people change and systems change, so will we.

DEI in action
DEI Guild
We believe that empathy is critical to advancing DEI at Sprout. To seed and scale this, our DEI Guild is an opportunity to build a deeper understanding of the histories and lived experiences of underrepresented and marginalized groups in order to spark genuine desire for change and allyship.
Continuous learning
In addition to our DEI Guild, we host a series of formal and informal learning events throughout the year on topics such as unconscious bias, allyship and inclusive leadership practices. We also engage in open and ongoing sharing and dialogue in our #talk-dei and CRG Slack channels.
Inclusive work spaces
Sprout offices feature all-gender restrooms, rooms for nursing parents and a quiet room for those seeking space to care for their mental, emotional and spiritual health. We also offer a 16-week parental leave policy for all new parents, remote work flexibility and inclusive dietary options whenever food is served.
Growing diverse talent
Sprout is intentional about expanding our diverse pipeline, partnering with non-profit orgs to provide job training and placement opportunities for Black and LatinX talent, and developing internal programs like the DEI Accelerator Program aimed at supporting the continued growth and retention of our US-based BIPOC employees.
Community Resource Groups
CRGs are employee-led and work directly with an executive sponsor to build strategic plans to help serve and support their members, and broader communities.

"The most impressive and admirable part of Sprout’s culture is its emphasis on creating an open and inviting workspace for all individuals. A lot of companies preach the importance of DEI, but few invest in it as actively as Sprout does. It is clear that Sprout believes that individuals will perform their best work if they are able to truly be themselves in a work environment without fear of judgment or repercussions."
