Sprout Social is looking to hire an Industry Product Marketing Manager II for the Marketing team. This role will report to the Sr. Manager, Product Marketing and is equal parts strategy and execution.

Our product marketing team is at the core of many strategic initiatives to drive product awareness, growth, and adoption to our customers. The speed of product innovation combined with our strategic partnerships allow us to drive the business with a drumbeat of product launches and campaigns.
. What you’ll do
- You will gain an in-depth understanding and expertise in key industries (including, but not limited to Public Sector, Financial Services, and Healthcare) to be able to identify industry trends, unique customer requirements or preferences and craft tailored product positioning and messaging
- You will build a deep understanding of our products and how they serve customers in these industries in order to develop buyer personas and go-to-market strategies.
- You will partner closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., Field and Channel Marketing, Revenue, and Product Management) to understand these industries, their customer use cases and to distill those insights to use them in a way that drives customer acquisition and product adoption
- You will continually monitor the pipeline and MRR within your key industry areas to identify opportunities for growth and develop strategies to capitalize on them
- You will lead sales and success initiatives directly driving value to customers to increase retention for your key industries
- You will package product capabilities to tell tailored stories to these industries, and build the right collateral to showcase the product to these verticals
- You will influence the product roadmap by sharing industry-specific market and competitive insights with Product teams
What you’ll bring
Sprout Social is looking for an industry product marketer with excellent communication skills with internal partners, a passion for learning and knowledge, and a desire to build new stories and strategies with us. Your skills are part creative, part analytical, and always centered around using qualitative and quantitative analysis to make data-informed decisions. You love digging into research to understand specific customer needs and market trends. You understand how to define KPIs and create plans to hit your goals. You are comfortable working with ambiguity and defining strategies in a high-growth environment.
The minimum qualifications for this role include:
- 4+ years of experience in growth, partner or lifecycle marketing
- 3+ years of industry marketing or product marketing experience
- Exceptional communications skills with cross-functional partners
- Experience analyzing industry trends and translating them into actionable, tailored plans
- Demonstrated success in driving go-to-market campaigns with strong project management skills
Preferred qualifications for this role include:
- Strong storytelling skills with the ability to craft and refine narratives
- Previous experience working in the software/SaaS industry
How you’ll grow
Within 1 month, you’ll plant your roots, including:
- Attending two weeks of Sprout Social training to learn the ins and outs of both our company and products
- Attending our sales onboarding training to learn how we position our solution and value to customers
- Developing a firm understanding of Sprout’s brand positioning, voice and key messages
- Getting to know your fellow Product Marketers and meet with key stakeholders across Product, Revenue, Field and Channel Marketing, Customer and Integrated Marketing, and Brand Creative to understand current working relationships
- Soaking up knowledge from every team you interact with and asking a lot of questions!
Within 3 months, you’ll start hitting your stride by:
- Familiarizing yourself with Sprout’s go-to-market strategy including our industry-specific revenue teams and their nuances and needs
- Learning about Marketing and Brand Creative processes and rituals (i.e., how we get work done), and learning how to execute campaigns effectively
- Familiarizing yourself with Sprout’s product strategy and development lifecycle, our release/launch process, marketing campaign framework and more
- Learning and becoming comfortable with Sprout’s value propositions and personas, and starting to identify any opportunities to customize for industries
- Becoming familiar with the social media management industry, and understanding the competitive landscape
- Starting to plan and execute your first industry campaign—taking the lead from start to finish
- Partnering closely with fellow Product Marketers to understand our platform end-to-end
- Interacting day-to-day with internal teams including field and channel marketing, product management, marketing, revenue, creative and others to extract insights and spot opportunities
Within 6 months, you’ll be making a clear impact through:
- Continuing to develop strong cross-functional relationships to build insights and share opportunities from your point of view
- Having a strong understanding of customer needs and use cases that drive value for our customers in your dedicated verticals
- Creating a strong relationship with revenue and marketing partners in order to identify key opportunities for strategic campaigns
- Crafting unique product campaigns for your industries with the right product to fit the right audience
- Providing insights and intel to our product management teams around the unique needs of your industries to help influence roadmap strategies
Within 12 months, you’ll make this role your own by:
- Having a strong understanding of customer needs and use cases for your industries, and how our platform and integrations drive value for our customers
- Identifying opportunities to close competitive gaps for key industries, with both internal enablement and our product vision
- Conducting market and customer research that can be combined with existing voice-of-customer and competitive insights to inform product strategies
- Refining buyer personas, product messaging and positioning for your owned industries
- Being comfortable and proactive about working with the rest of the Product Marketing to push the creativity of our growth, adoption and go-to-market strategies
- Surprising us! Use your unique ideas and abilities to change our team and marketing efforts in beneficial ways that we haven’t even considered yet.

Individual base pay is based on various factors, including work location, relevant experience and skills, the responsibility of the role, and job duties/requirements. In the United States, we have two geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires are:
- Zone 1 (New York, California, Washington): $102,520.00(min), $128,200.00 (mid), $153,780.00 (max) USD annually
- Zone 2 (All other US states): $93,200.00(min), $116,500.00 (mid), $139,800.00 (max) USD annually
The listed ranges represent the full earning potential in this position. Starting salaries for well-qualified new hires are typically around the midpoint of the range. These ranges were determined by a market-based compensation approach; we used data from trusted third-party compensation sources to set equitable, consistent, and competitive ranges. We also evaluate compensation bi-annually, identify any changes in the market and make adjustments to our ranges and existing employee compensation as needed.
Base pay is only one element of an employee's total compensation at Sprout. Every Sprout team member has an opportunity to receive restricted stock units (RSUs) under Sprout’s equity plan. Employees (and their dependents) are covered by medical, dental, vision, basic life, accidental death, and dismemberment insurance, and Modern Health (a wellness benefit). Employees are able to enroll in Sprout’s company’s 401k plan, in which Sprout will match 50% of your contributions up to 6% with a maximum contribution. Sprout offers “Flexible Paid Time Off” and ten paid holidays.
