Twitter continues its partnership with American Express and has launched its new self-serve advertising program designed specifically for small businesses.
Last month, Twitter began accepting sign-ups for its new service, which enables you to buy ads directly from the website instead of a sales representative.
The program is currently open to American Express card holders or businesses that accept the card. Through this promotion, Twitter offered a $100 credit to the first 10,000 businesses that registered.
With today’s officially kick off, those first 10,000 will be notified and can get started building their campaigns. According to Twitter, the program is starting off small, and will gradually increase over the coming weeks.
Participating advertisers will have access to all of Twitter’s Promoted Products. If you use Promoted Tweets, you will pay-per-click, retweet, reply, or favorite. If you use Promoted Accounts, you will pay per follower gained.
This is a great opportunity for small business owners that don’t have a lot of advertising experience. Twitter has made the process very simple, so you’re able to get started much quicker. It also means that more ads will appear from brick-and-mortars and small brands, which often get lost in the noise from larger national and international brands.
