Twitter has introduced two new features to its self-serve advertising platform: follower growth reporting and manual Promoted Tweet selection.
Initially launched in March, Twitter’s self-service advertising program enables you to buy ads directly from the website instead of a sales representative.
Not only has Twitter given small businesses easier access to Promoted Accounts and Promoted Tweets, but now you’ll also be able to track your follower growth over time. A new chart for Promoted Accounts will give you an at-a-glance view of your audience growth — both paid and unpaid followers.
Additionally, the company is giving you more control over which tweets are promoted as part of a promotion or event. Currently Twitter automatically selects your most engaging tweets, but moving forward you’ll be able to manually choose which tweets get promoted.
Although minor, these updates put more control in your hands and give you insight into whether your ad dollars are being spent wisely. If you’re interested in advertising on Twitter, U.S.-based businesses can apply for access.
