Simplify the Public-to-Private Transition by Adding a DM Prompt to Your Twitter Reply
The new Add DM Link button in the lower left corner of the Twitter reply screen enables you to seamlessly embed a DM Prompt when replying to a customer. The DM Prompt adds a deep link to the reply Tweet that automatically displays a call to action button to the user on Twitter.com. This deep link allows a user to send your business a Direct Message quickly and easily.
- How To:
- Click the reply icon on any Twitter message in the Smart Inbox or Feeds.
- Compose your reply leaving at least 23 characters to account for the deep link.
- Click the Add DM Link button in the lower left corner of the Twitter reply screen.
- Note: The Add DM Link button will only be available to you in Sprout if you have configured your settings on Twitter.com to allow for anyone to DM your business.*
- Once you’ve added the DM link, the button will turn blue and display “Request for DM included” and your remaining character count will reflect the addition of a link. However, you will not see the link in the reply text field.
- Click Send.
*Note: Once you’ve configured your settings on Twitter.com to allow for anyone to DM your business, it may take up to 2 hours for Sprout to recognize the new setting and begin displaying the Add DM Link button in your Twitter reply screen.
