Connect a TripAdvisor Profile with Automatic Lookup

Connect your TripAdvisor profiles with the automatic lookup process to start monitoring and managing your TripAdvisor reviews from the Sprout platform. You must have Manage Profiles & Permissions access to connect profiles. 

Note – To use this feature, your account must already have Facebook Pages connected to Sprout (so that we can match these locations with your TripAdvisor locations).

  1. HOW-TO
  2. Click the “Connect profile” button (box with plus sign) in the upper-right corner of the app. 
  3. Choose TripAdvisor.
  4. On the next screen, make sure “Automatic Lookup” is selected.
  5. Click “Lookup locations automatically” 
  6. Once Sprout finds the locations, you can select which locations you want to connect by checking the box next to each name or choose Select All to connect all your locations.
  7. Click the “Add Locations” button in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Note – It may take up to 24 hours for TripAdvisor to activate your profile connection. Once profiles are activated, you will see your reviews being pulled into the Reviews tab stream.

Connect a TripAdvisor Profile with Manual Lookup

Connect your TripAdvisor profiles with Sprout’s manual process to start monitoring and managing your TripAdvisor reviews. You must have Manage Profiles & Permissions access to connect a profile to your Sprout account.

  1. HOW-TO:
  2. Click the “Connect profile” button (box with plus sign) in the upper-right corner of the app. 
  3. Choose TripAdvisor.
  4. On the next screen, select “Manual Lookup.”
  5. In another browser or window, visit the native TripAdvisor location page you want to connect, and copy and paste the URL into the search bar.
  6. Click the “Add Locations” button in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Note – It may take up to 24 hours for TripAdvisor to activate your profile connection. Once profiles are activated, you will see your reviews being pulled into the Reviews tab stream.

Monitor and Manage TripAdvisor Reviews

Monitor and manage your TripAdvisor reviews from the Reviews tab in the Sprout platform. Start managing your reviews in the new tab by clicking the Reviews star icon in the top right of the navigation bar. Reviews is available to all plans.

  1. HOW-TO: 
  2. Filter reviews in the Filter Bar on the right. You can filter by date range, message status, profile, and rating (including star rating and recommends/does not recommend)
  3. Tag reviews and Mark as Complete by clicking the corresponding icons in the bottom of the review message. 
  4. Contextual options can be found by hovering over a review and selecting the Gear Icon in the top right.
  5. Save specific filter sets to create Custom Views, which you can share with your team members.
  6. Reply to a review by clicking the arrow icon in the bottom right corner of the review message. (See note below for more details)

Reply to TripAdvisor Reviews

TripAdvisor’s integration does not allow direct reply functionality from any of their partner platforms. Instead you can click to reply directly from the native TripAdvisor platform. Your native responses will be visible in the Sprout platform, so you can keep track of the conversation.

  1. HOW-TO:
  2. Reply to a review by clicking the arrow icon in the bottom right corner of the review message.
  3. Once the reply layer opens, click on the External Reply icon in the bottom right corner of the message.
  4. This will take you directly to the native TripAdvisor message in a new browser window, where you will be able to respond.
  5. Return to the Sprout platform to continue managing your reviews.
