thanks for the heads-up, no good news though :) So many times I am puzzling to get my message in 140 characters, but as you said: "a good reminder to tweet smarter and keep your message as concise as possible"!

 enthusedotme Hi Stefanie. You're right. It's certainly a challenge, but a manageable one. Keep in mind that this only applies to t.co URLs. If you use other shorteners, you'll still have a few extra characters to play with. Happy tweeting!
