New Facebook Plugin Brings Auto-Sharing to WordPress
Apple‘s new iOS isn’t the only thing receiving a deeper integration with Facebook. The social network has released a new plugin for the blogging platform WordPress.
Facebook’s new one-click sharing options make it easier for you to socialize your website. The plugin enables you to cross-post your content to your Facebook Timeline or Page any time you publish a new post.
One of the most appealing features of Facebook for WordPress is its Recommendations Bar. This provides readers with recommendations, as well as the ability to Like content and add what they’re reading to Timeline as they go.
In a somewhat confusing manner, Facebook has also released a widget called Recommendations Box, not to be confused with the Bar. This shows your visitors recommendations of pages they should visit based on the actions their friends are taking on your site.
Other features include customizable Like, send, and subscribe buttons, and Open Graph integration, which would allow you to auto-share your visitors’ reading habits. However, we imagine this could be met with a lot of pushback from readers.
Another noteworthy widget, which can be enabled from your Widgets setting page, is the Activity Feed. Through this, visitors will be able to view their friends’ activity, including Likes and comments, on the social network.
In a blog post, Facebook said that TechCrunch, Buzz Media, and The Next Web are among the launch partners already using the new plugin. The company hopes that more blogs will integrate, resulting in more content appearing in members’ News Feeds.
If you’re interested in deeper integration between your website and Facebook Page, you can install the plugin today.
