Hey ChicagoIL,

I know what U mean ! I sometimes do things on my handheld device. Since it does have auto-text-correct, I sometimes sound like a real D-bag! lol I wished there was a way to undo or edit past status updates...

VictorTalha Hey Victor! I believe you can still edit past comments on Facebook posts, just not the actual status updates themselves. I just tried editing comments on both a Facebook Page and my personal profile and was able to do so.

I wish they would let you edit your status. For a while you could (you had a very short time period to do so. i believe something like 2 seconds). It's really frustrating when you've posted a good status and accidentally made some mistake.

ChicagoIL I know it's frustrating but it wouldn't be a good idea to be able to edit post after it has impressions or any action (likes, comments, shares)! Imagine you post "Who likes Chicago Bulls" and you'll get a lot of comments & likes of Chicago Bulls fans. After few hours you edit your post to "Who likes Miami Heat", but the likes & comments will still be there...

toleemedia The same can be said for comments, though. Especially on a brand's page, if a customer leaves a comment on a status complaining about something and then the brand replies, the fan can change the comment, making it look like they were initially claiming something else (which in turn can reflect poorly on the brand.) I think there should be a limit (5 minutes?) for how long you can edit your comments.

AdamBritten  toleemedia Facebook claims there will be an edit history, so newcomers just stumbling onto to the thread will be able to see what has changed.

jennifer beese  AdamBritten You could correct your comment in context by placing another comment. My opinion is that Facebook should be more like real life "what's said is said". Think before you talk/write... there is always an option to delete a comment/post and write it again if there is a typo... it's more important to have nested comments like they appear in embeddable facebook comments on sites & blogs.

AdamBritten the brand has always the option to delete comments, that's why I think every brand's page should have strict community rules added as an app/tab or note accesible for their fans
