Kind of sick of hearing folks complain about the changes. Always seems like it's the same people complaining with each update.

After the sweeping change to the News Feed (and not one person I've talked to liked it) I also noticed that Facebook is filtering out my friend's posts. Facebook defaults to giving me "Most" of my friend's posts. I have to manually turn on each friend to provide "All" posts. To do so, mouse over a friend's post and then find the tiny arrow in the right-upper corner. Click on it to bring down the menu to turn your friends back on.
I'm not sure how Facebook decides what to filter out, so I've warned all my friends to turn their friends' updates back on fully again. I've also sent all my friends an invitation to Google+.

Great article! Thanks for the news

Yes, I hear there is going to be a even bigger overhaul announced in *lookingatwatch* just a few minutes. We'll surely update you more information here in the near future.

Great "insights"! I didn't realize the reasoning behind the changes was the signal-to-noise ratio. I find the changes were too similar to Twitter, but I do like the new tabs to the left to see recent activity from just friends, family, or friends in your area. I heard more changes are still to come, what do you think?
