Drive More Traffic to Pages With Updated Google+ Badges

When Google launched Google+ Pages last year, it also introduced the Google+ Badge, which can be used to promote a Page directly from a website. The company has just added more options that help to improve integration with your site.

Previously, when creating a Google+ Badge you were given a few pre-made sizes to choose from. Now badges can be customized with a width that fits your site design. You can also select a version that works better with darker backgrounds – which helps to blend the button so it doesn’t distract from the rest of your site.

Additionally badges now include the +1 button as well as the number of Circles that you have been added to – a feature that was added to Pages last month.

By adding a Google+ Badge to your website, you’re making it easier for your readers to share or +1 your content on Google+. They can also add your Google+ Page to their Circles directly from your site.

Badges are a great way to promote your brand across social media platforms. Google recently looked at the top sites using the Google+ Badge and found that, on average, it accounted for an additional 38 percent of followers.

These new features are available in Developer Preview and will be rolled out to all users soon.

Nice. I don't know why I never notice these things on my own.
