How Mobile and Video Are Influencing Consumers’ Buying Habits
Even more, mobile researchers spend and buy more often, with one in four purchasing six or more times in the past six months — compared to just one in six of non-mobile researchers.
The survey found that 56 percent of apparel consumers used mobile devices to compare prices, 44 percent looked for promotions or coupons while shopping online, 42 percent use mobile to read reviews online, and 32 percent search through inventory.
Businesses can take advantage of this by having mobile-friendly websites that consumers can easily access, or by looking into different mobile advertising options — such as Facebook’s mobile-only ads.
Additionally, video has become a popular resource for consumers with four in 10 visiting a clothing store or website after viewing apparel-related videos online. Twenty-five percent of video researchers purchased clothing more than six times in the last six months.
Somewhat surprisingly, only 26 percent of consumers use platforms like Twitter and Facebook when researching apparel purchases. You can find additional details and other interesting findings from the survey in the infographic below.
