It's a tough thing to do... but super important. My fiancee and I also have Fone Free Fridays. We aren't allowed to check out phones, computers, or any other connected device. We have to spend time with each other and/or make plans to go out.

officialcoopy Disconnecting for a day is a great idea. Personally I opt for lazy Sundays and try my best to stay away from the computer and, if possible, my phone.

Its a tough one as the lines between work and play are certainly becoming more and more blurred... social platforms cover everything... corporate news, blogs on every subject matter known to man, product launches, friends holidays photos, status or location updates, celebrity gossip... the list goes on and on! When your phone beeps most of us can't help but check it! Is it work or social! The risk is yours!

Unplugging is definitely a hard thing to do - you really have to force yourself to step away. Even just a 10 minute walk at lunch can help (leave your phone in your pocket, if not at your desk!)

I try to "turn off" but I'm so addicted. Taking my daughter to the beach helps.

There's a way to avoid it? LOL

Totally! Finding that work-life balance is key. *Make* time to step away from the computer, spend time with your family or doing something else you love, and recharge!

I would love to hear people's thoughts on this. I definitely suffer from burnout at times.

Weightlifting and trying to unplug in my off-time. Having kids helps you unplug...gives you a good excuse with your employer, "Oh sorry. I was coaching my son's ball team ALL day on Saturday and didn't see that come in."
