One of the many benefits of social media is that it enables you to reach audiences in other parts of the world without exhausting your team’s energy and budget. Starting next week, Twitter plans to make it easier for businesses to reach customers in South America.
Currently Twitter’s advertising suite — which includes Promoted Tweets, Promoted Accounts, and Promoted Trends — is available to businesses in the U.S., UK, APAC, Latin America, and parts of the MENA region. With the help from IMS Internet Media Services, Twitter now looks to launch its Promoted Products in Peru and Ecuador.
“We’re seeing U.S. brands turn to Latin America as an attractive emerging market to scale and monetize their business,” explained David Rayo, managing director of IMS Social. ”
Over the past year, brands like Nike, Samsung, and Sony have launched Twitter ad campaigns across the region, making the expansion to Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, and Chile a success. Further expansion into South America seems like a logical next step.
“Twitter is a brand that is successfully capitalizing on the region’s rapidly-growing Internet and mobile penetration,” continued Rayo. “And with the added global spotlight of the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games, many forward-thinking brands are looking for the best way to enter the market.”
