LinkedIn has announced a new feature, called company status updates, that will allow members to receive more information about the companies they follow on the social network.
In an effort to make it easier for companies to communicate with an audience, LinkedIn launched its Company Follow feature nearly a year and a half ago. Since then its had over 10 million professionals follow over 2 million companies on its site.
Company status updates can be used to update your network on recruiting events, developments on your project, or maybe you just want to share relevant industry insights. These updates will appear in news feeds on the homepage. Additionally, members will be able to comment, “like”, or share it with their own network.
Only companies with an assigned admin will be able to use the new status update feature. Updates can be up to 500 characters long and can support URLs with multimedia as well. You can learn more about how to get started with this feature by visiting LinkedIn’s Learning Center.
This is a great opportunity for your company to build engagement with not only your customers, but with potential employees and industry leaders too.
