Crafting the perfect tweet takes more than copying and pasting the title and link to your latest blog post. Not only does your message need a clear call to action, proper punctuation, and a shortened URL, but you have to manage all of this while being mindful of Twitter’s 140 character limit. And don’t forget sufficient retweet space.
With social media as prevalent as it is, chances are you’re managing profiles on multiple platforms, and each one comes with its own unofficial rules. For example, Facebook uses a “less is more” approach to status updates so fans can’t resist clicking on your link. On Pinterest, images without faces get repinned 23 percent more often than those with faces. You need to be hyper aware of popular hashtags on services like Vine and Instagram.
All of these tips and tricks can be difficult to remember, especially if you’re just getting started on a new platform. Most community and social media managers learn from trial and error, as well as making notes of what other successful brands have done. But if you’re looking for something you can easily reference throughout the work week to help make the most of what you’re sharing, the infographic below is an excellent resource.
