Facebook is all about simplifying its ad products, and over the weekend it confirmed that these changes are extending to Ads Manager. Now advertisers will be able to find customers easier using the Custom Audiences tool.
Introduced last fall, Custom Audiences give you the ability to connect with existing customers by targeting email addresses, phone numbers, or user IDs collected off of Facebook. Early studies found that targeting its email list lead to one company increasing its sign-up rate by 43 percent and reducing cost-per-lead by 30 percent.
The social network is testing a “Find Customers” tool in Ads Manager that allows you to import email lists from Constant Contact and MailChimp, or upload your own .CSV files from Excel. Initially discovered by Or Fialkov, the test appears to be accessible to anyone that already has at least one Custom Audience.
To access the Find Customers tool, log in to Ads Manager and click on the “Choose Your Audience” menu. From there, select “New Customer List” and the Find Customers screen will pop up letting you choose from the different options described above. If you opt for an Excel file, you can upload and name your list; however, if you choose MailChimp or Constant Contact, you’ll be asked to sign in to your account to select and upload your list.
There’s no word on whether this will become a full-fledged feature, but it almost seems like an obvious choice if it simplifies the amount of work required of advertisers. If you already use a Custom Audience, check out the new tool today and see if it’ll work for your team.
