iOS 6 isn’t the only thing benefiting from Yelp integration. This week the review site teamed up with Bing to provide additional content to local searches.
Starting today, Yelp will deliver review snippets, photos, and business details in Bing’s snapshot (the center column of the search engine’s new social interface) and Bing Local pages.
This is no doubt in response to Google+ Local, which replaced Google Places in May. The service — using Zagat reviews — appears in search results and provides people with more information about local businesses.
Microsoft is beginning the rollout today, and will be available across the U.S. in the coming weeks.
Despite growth numbers, it appears that Yelp’s influence has faded. However, with attention from both Apple and Microsoft, Yelp is positioned to reclaim its relevance.
If you haven’t logged in recently, it might be time to dust off the old Yelp account. We recommend ensuring that all your profile information is up to date, and if you haven’t already, take time to respond to some of your reviews — both positive and negative.
