Although a lot of focus is put on social media, email is still an important part of your marketing strategy. A recent study found that emails that include social sharing buttons benefit from a click-through-rate (CTR) boost of up to 115 percent.
GetResponse – an email marketing company – found that Facebook, which is included in 91 percent of social emails, is the most popular sharing option. It’s popularity increased by 10 percent compared to last year. Twitter, on the other hand, is included in only 46.1% of emails, which is a 25 percent drop. Far below either network is LinkedIn, which is included in only 8.5 percent of emails.
LinkedIn’s sharing buttons might be less popular that last year – the number of emails including it dropped 25 percent – but the effectiveness of the LinkedIn link has soared. The click-through-rate for emails that include it has increased by almost 400 percent with a 9.6 percent CTR. Facebook and Twitter pulled in 5.4 percent and 5.0 percent, respectively.
It’s important to consider adding social buttons to your emails. Brands that combine email marketing with social sharing can leverage an audience and increase the effectiveness your campaigns.
