Another new feature is Popular Products. This helps consumers that are looking for a specific product, but haven’t performed much research yet. When a shopper searches for a general term, Google will return a list of products ranked in order of popularity. This not only helps to focus the consumer’s search on a few specific models, but it will also provide suggestions on how to refine the search.
Since many consumers will be using mobile phones to research on the go, Google has also released a new Mobile Product Search homepage. The mobile version will provide instant access to detailed product information, reviews, and prices. This page can be access through the Google Search app by selecting the Shopping tab.
With holiday shopping kicking into high gear this week, more consumers will be researching, comparing, and purchasing products. If you haven’t already, it’s worth checking out Google Product Search to make sure your products are visible. A full list of updates can be viewed on Google’s Commerce Blog.
