Earlier this year YouTube introduced Top Fans, a tool that lets you interact with your most engaged viewers. Now the company is focused on attracting new fans with the launch of Fan Finder. The new initiative is designed to help you introduce and connect your channel to new fans, at no cost.
To take advantage of this feature, all you have to do is create and upload a video introducing new fans to your channel and then submit it to Fan Finder. From there, YouTube will turn your video into a TrueView video ad, which gives viewers the option to skip after five seconds.
Fan Finder takes into account the interactions that viewers have with millions of YouTube channels in order to reach the people who are most likely to engage with your channel. The ad will be shown for free across YouTube.
When creating your video, be sure to keep it short and engaging. Introduce the viewer to your content; don’t assume they’ve heard of your channel before. Keep your ad focused on your channel and why viewers should subscribe or check out your content.
Additionally, make sure that you have a clear call to action. Include annotations so viewers can click and take action quickly. Keep in mind that viewers will have the option to skip the ad after five seconds, so make them count.
