Yelp has introduced a new set of metrics that will help local businesses improve their presence on the review site.

As with any social media platform, it’s important to understand how consumers are interacting with your brand. Once you’ve claimed your business listing on Yelp, you’ll have access to free tools that measure the performance of your business.

With Yelp’s new User Views graph, you’re now able to track traffic to your page, including views from mobile devices, over 30 days, 12 month, and 24 month periods. You’ll also be able to see how many times your business appeared in Yelp’s organic search results over a rolling 30 day period.

Additionally, Yelp has added a new section to the business dashboard called User Actions. Here you’ll be able to track interactions with your business page, including the number of mobile check-ins, photos uploaded, clicks to your website, Yelp Deals sold, and so on.

While Yelp might not be as popular as Pinterest or Facebook, it’s still a very powerful tool for small businesses owners that are looking to increase traffic — both foot and digital. The site averages around 66 million monthly unique visitors — according to Google Analytics.
