Twitter is testing a new feature that will enable people to upload photos from their phones through its mobile site.

At first glance this appears to be old news, but previously this functionality was only available in Twitter’s official apps for smartphones.

Just over a year ago Twitter introduced the same functionality into its desktop website, which has quickly become the most popular way to share photos on Twitter.

Now, it appears that the same can be done by visiting on your mobile web browser. While this isn’t a big deal to most smartphone owners, it does add new functionality for people with standard phones.

Currently, this feature is only available to people running Ice Cream Sandwich and above on Android devices and iOS 6, which is still in private beta. We expect Twitter to announce more details after Apple’s launch event.
