Small businesses all over the world are using Twitter to communicate with customers and attract new ones.
In the past,Twitter (and American Express) offered U.S. businesses free advertising credits. The company is repeating that offer, but this time it’s going after businesses in the UK.
Twitter is offering up to £1,000 ($1,600) in ad credits, which UK businesses can redeem on Promoted Products — which are subject to Twitter’s discretion. However, not every business will qualify.
If you’re interested, you must tweet using the hashtag #ukbizstories and explain how your local business has used Twitter creatively to connect with the community. You can also encourage your customers to tweet on your behalf, as long as they use the hashtag and describe ways in which you’ve used Twitter creatively to interact with them.
We recommend reading the fine print before participating. By submitting your tweet, you’re giving Twitter permission to share your testimonial (including your name, profile picture, and any other text or media associated with your Twitter account) in case studies, presentations, and other promotional materials.
The offer is valid until July 30th. The U.S. will have to sit this one out as the promotion is only open to UK businesses. Twitter will select and reward the businesses with the best examples.
Although not every business will benefit, this is a great opportunity for small businesses that don’t have a lot of advertising experience. Additionally, it’s a good way to drum up a bit more exposure for your company on Twitter.
