It’s Facebook Friday — each week we’ll offer one tip for leveraging Facebook to increase customer awareness of and engagement with your brand or business. This week we’ll show you how to use the old Facebook Insights analytics tool, just in case you don’t like the new Facebook Insights.

It’s actually very simple, but we know a lot of people miss it because we’ve had some requests for a tip on this subject.

First, make sure you log in as your Facebook Page instead of your personal profile. To do this, click the arrow in the top-right corner of any page of Facebook’s website and select the Page you want to use under “Use Facebook as.”

By default, you’ll be taken directly to your Page. Look on the right-hand side of the Page once you’re there. See the list of admins? Below that, you’ll see several options like “Promote with an Ad.” One of them is “View old Insights,” with a purple icon. Click that and you’ll be taken directly to the old Insights.

Just keep in mind that Facebook may not continue to offer this deprecated version of its analytics tool forever. You might as well learn what the new version has to offer. And don’t forget that you can get some of the same data with third-party social media management tools.
