Facebook ruffled some feathers yesterday when testing of a new Timeline design was revealed. However, a minor change just might put the social network back in your good graces.

According to social advertising firm AlphaBoost, Facebook rolled out a new Like-the-Page button this week. Some Facebook members now have the option to Like a brand’s Page directly from individual posts.

Currently, this option can only be accessed by the post’s unique URL — or permalink — which displays the content by itself. This is done by clicking on the date, similar to Twitter’s timestamp.

It’s hard to say how many people actually come across individual posts for this to have an impact on your Page’s Likes. If Facebook extends this functionality to Sponsored Stories, it could provide much more value for advertisers.

In the mean time, there’s still some benefit to this: individuals that come across single posts won’t have to look much further in order to Like your Page.
