It’s Facebook Friday — each week we’ll offer one tip for leveraging Facebook to increase customer awareness of and engagement with your brand or business. This week we’re giving you a heads up about a powerful new Facebook Insights metrics-tracking feature that’s going live over the next few days.
In addition to new app Insights, Facebook has made updates to Page Insights which specifically focus on measuring organic, viral, and total impressions.
Currently Insights data reflects the impressions gained only from initial shares in your Page’s total and viral impressions. Moving forward, it will start counting the number of impressions gained — the shares of shares — through fans sharing posts.
Additionally, Facebook will include total impressions for all time. Previously the social network stopped collecting data on posts past 28 days. We’re not certain what the lifespan of a Facebook post is, but this should help you better gauge that.
Creating sharable content is important as it helps your Page gain a wider audience. The ability to measure these impressions will give you a better sense of how your posts are performing and what type of reach you have.
