How the Google Antitrust Settlement Could Affect SEO [Infographic]
Earlier this month, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) ended its 20-month antitrust investigation into Google’s mobile and online search practices.
The search giant was accused of “locking out” competitors by using unfair tactics. Google has integrated several types of search results — such as videos and maps — with text results, allowing it to keep visitors within its properties.
To resolve the FTC’s concerns, Google agreed to change some of its business practices, but evaded any sort of fine. As a result, the company will voluntarily license some of its mobile device patents to competitors, stop using content from other websites, and simplify the management of advertising campaigns on rival networks.
The settlement might not mean much to most business owners, but it could have an impact on your company’s SEO. Internet marketing agency imForza has put together an infographic (found below) highlighting the ways in which Google’s settlement could affect SEO. More than that, it can also be used to help improve your SEO strategy as Google continues to evolve.
