2013 has been a busy year here at Sprout. As the year comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to thank you for your business and reflect on some of the many improvements that we’ve built to make Sprout even better for your social team.
As in previous years, in 2013 we focused on helping you better engage with your audience. We introduced the Engagement Report, a report full of metrics including response rates and times that make it easy to understand, measure and improve how you interact with people who mention your brand. Along with the Engagement Report, we introduced the Response Rate indicator in the Smart Inbox and MustBePresent.com. These tools help you quickly gauge your responsiveness and see just how responsive you are compared to similar brands.
Task Enhancements & Team Report
Collaborating with a team got a lot easier too. The redesign of Tasks provides a nice, clean way to organize items that need follow up – whether it’s a General Task, Support Issue, or Sales Lead. Sprout’s Team Report goes hand-in-hand with Tasks. In addition to tracking publishing and response metrics, the Team Report makes it easy to track task completion rates and times at the individual user level.
Google Plus Integration
In the spring we introduced the long awaited Google+ Pages integration. With the integration, you can publish publicly or to select circles, monitor and manage activity on your pages, collaborate with your team, and see a snapshot of your performance all within Sprout.
Speaking of Google, 2013 saw the retirement of Google Reader. We were happy to work with the team at Feedly to seamlessly replace Google Reader so that you can keep finding and sharing content within the Sprout platform.
Android App Redesign
We know that social media is an around the clock commitment so we’re extremely focused on making Sprout easy to use on the go. The fully redesigned Android application was a huge upgrade built to make Sprout even better on your Android phone or tablet. We can’t wait for you to see our new iOS 7 app – coming soon.
The Sprout team released more than a feature per week throughout the year. Here are a few highlights:
Personal Mode: Connect your personal profiles and manage your social activity using the Sprout features you already know.
Advanced Permissions: Customize access within Sprout for your team members based on their roles and responsibilities.
Annual Payments: Simplify your billing – pay just once per year and save 10%.
Geo-Target Tweets: Target your tweets by country to reach the right audience on Twitter.
We are committed to constantly evolving to help you better engage with your audience and more effectively manage your social media presence. We hope 2013 was a great year for you and we look forward to growing with you in 2014 and beyond.
Product Team: At Sprout Social, we embrace and revel in the fact that social media is a crucial component of brand and customer relationships. Our team of dedicated engineers, marketers, designers, product specialists and customer service professionals work tirelessly to create an exceptional product for our customers.
Like sprout a lot, but would like a few things so I do not need Hootsuite also.
Keep up the great work.
@lichthousebs Thanks for letting us know that you'd love to see Instagram and LinkedIn integrations!
You guys have made fantastic progress this year - it's a good tool you're building, BUT I'm still waiting on two things that were promised when I signed up 6 months ago:
1. Mobile Notifications for Accounts
2. LinkedIn Company Updates
@JamesTFletcher Our team is constantly working to develop and build out the application, so more great progress to come! Both of those features are still in our plans, though taking longer than expected.
We use Sprout to manage social media for our clients. The functionality we really miss (that Hootsuite has) is the ability to automatically email out reports on a monthly basis. Currently we have to download each one and then email out which is a big bore! Also would love Pinterest integration. Thanks!
@Stephen Phillips Definitely understand that auto-emailing reports would be a helpful feature for our customers and help cut out a tedious task! Our team is looking into adding that functionality in the future, though not in the immediate plans.
Pinterest doesn't currently have a public API for us to integrate, but we're keeping an eye on it and will reassess down the road.
@carma Largely depends on API access opening up more, but we're keeping an eye on both platforms to see how businesses are using them and where we can add the most value!
When will put a tool to compare fanpages already equal to twitter, and will still be possible to compare this with more than one fanpage or Twitter profile and the same time which will be improvements in tool for 2014?
@ImamDaSilva Hey there! Depends on some developments in Facebook's API, but definitely on our radar and something we're looking into adding down the road.
Thank you for always innovating and making social media management ridiculously easy for us, Sprout Social! Cheers to a fantastic 2014! #SproutLove
