Facebook Launches New Campaign to Boost Holiday Ad Creation
As you might have noticed, Facebook has begun using large banners to encourage Page owners to purchase ads. While these prompts are good starting points, they do little to help you through the rest of the campaign-building process — especially if you’re a first-time buyer.
The first type of prompt, displayed toward the top of your Page, will try to get you to create a holiday ad. Clicking on it will bring you to Facebook’s self-serve ad dashboard, which can be a bit overwhelming for first-time advertisers.
Facebook provides you with a link where you can learn more about creating successful campaigns, but it’s not holiday-focused. Chances are, every ad campaign will have a holiday spin to it right now, so it would have been helpful to provide smaller businesses with some relevant holiday tips.
If you’ve ever started building an ad, but didn’t complete it, you’ll likely see a different prompt. Facebook has added a new “Your Ad Is Almost Ready” module above your News Feed with a prominent “Finish Your Ad” call to action.
Once clicked, you’re taken to a summary page where you can review and, if necessary, edit your ad. Choosing this option will take you back to the main ad creation tool. If you’re satisfied with the summary, you can place an order right there.
Small businesses don’t get the one-on-one support that larger brands do when it comes to Facebook Ads, but that shouldn’t stop you from taking advantage of the opportunity. We recommend learning about the different types of ads Facebook has to offer before jumping in. If you don’t think they’re a good fit for your brand, there are plenty of other ways to create awareness this holiday season.
