Diners Can Now Make In-App Reservations Through Foursquare

Moving further away from being just another check-in tool, Foursquare announced that diners can now make reservations through OpenTable directly from their mobile devices.

Last May, the location-based service partnered with OpenTable, but diners could only make reservations through Foursquare’s website. Moving forward, patrons can ditch the web as well as phone calls.

iPhone and Android users can now make in-app reservations with just a few taps at thousands of restaurants across the U.S. and Europe. However, in order to take advantage of this feature, you must be an OpenTable partner.

Members receive additional marketing support, as well as the ability to offer guests 24/7 access to your reservation system. Diners can reserve tables through your website, Facebook Page, Twitter, and most recently, Siri and Foursquare.

A recent study found a link between Yelp ratings and restaurant reservations. It’s possible that this added convenience could lead to a boost in your reservations as well. If you haven’t already, claim your venue on Foursquare so you can take advantage of additional tools, including specials, tips, and visitor analytics.
