YouTube Tests an Interactive Question Feature for Videos

Educators turning to social media might want to brush up on their video editing skills. It appears that YouTube is beta testing a new interactive feature called Video Question Editor.

Originally spotted by a Dutch tech website, the video service describes the feature as a way for “multiple questions to be displayed on top of your video during playback that a viewer can answer.”

Once enrolled in the beta, the editor can be found on the Video Edit Page on the edit bar. Not only can you add several questions, but once viewed, you’ll have access to a summary of the interactions through the analytics page within the Annotations section.

YouTube is careful to note that this is a test and that there’s “no plan for long-term support of the feature and may be removed at any time without prior notification.” If you’re interested in keeping this feature around, enroll in the beta and share your feedback with the company.

Such a feature wouldn’t only benefit teachers — imagine adding quizzes to educational videos — but businesses could include questions about new product or feature releases.
