Google+ Continues Rollout of Custom URLs for Pages

Google is rolling out custom URLs to thousands more verified and “well-known” brands and individuals on Google+ today.

The company began the rollout last week. The new web address will replace the current random string of letters and numbers assigned to most Google+ pages and profiles.

If you’re included in the expanded rollout, you’ll be prompted to claim your new URL through email, or when you visit your page or profile. At this time, it doesn’t appear that you can choose your own URL; instead, Google will provide you with a pre-approved option.

Google will be opening this up to the next group over the next few days. Verified members and other prominent brands or individuals will likely see the prompt before smaller businesses do.
