I always use Red Bull as an example when explaining the Timeline transition to newbies. Their social media strategy emphasizes building a community around shared interests (action sports). I consider this approach ideal, but it's important to remember that they're already an established brand. Smaller companies should try to integrate aspects of the Red Bull model along with more direct sales pitches.

Great analysis. They do a great job of making Red Bull into its own unique subculture.

Agreed! I love that Red Bull engages with their audience and knows their customer. They have a great Twitter presence as well.

Red Bull have their customer experience strategy pretty much spot on. It's just a drink, yet they've shown that a brand is about so much more than its product or services.
