Twitter Adds Hashtags, Photos, and More to Facebook Integration
Previously, Twitter members have been able to connect their accounts to Facebook so that links populate both social platforms. The company has made some adjustments to provide a more satisfying and richer media experience.
For example, if your tweet includes a hashtag, the corresponding Facebook status update will include a link so your fans can click through and view more tweets using that hashtag.
If you tweet a photo, your Facebook status update will include a thumbnail preview in addition to a link. Additionally, if a Twitter member mentions your brand’s Twitter handle, their Facebook status update will include a link to your Twitter Profile.
The integration, which can also be seen on mobile devices, is available now and works with Facebook Pages. If you already link your Twitter and Facebook accounts, you’ll need to visit your Twitter Profile settings and then disconnect and reconnect your accounts.
The setup process is a little inconvenient, but the integration can be a valuable tool for businesses looking to drive more traffic to their Twitter accounts. We recommend not flooding your Facebook fans with tweets; everything in moderation.
