Update Makes it Easier to Link Your Website to Google+
Until now, the authentication process has been pretty elaborate. In fact, many blogging platforms required additional configurations, deterring many from actually using the feature. Moving forward, the process has been significantly improved, and can be completed in three very simple steps.
First, visit your Google+ Page and click ‘Edit Profile.’ Next, on the About tab, save your website URL and then click the ‘Link Website’ button that appears. Finally, follow the instructions for adding a short line of code to your site’s homepage, then click ‘Test website.’
If the setup is successful, you’ll see a confirmation message, and within a day or two, the link between your website and Google+ Page will be active — a check icon will appear next to the URL on your profile signaling this.
Google Authorship is especially beneficial for brands that have a company blog or those that spend a lot of time contributing guest posts. It’s a great way to increase your visibility and help your content stand out across the web.
